RESEPSI KHALAYAK TERHADAP REPRESENTASI KOMUNIKASI KELUARGA DAN POLA ASUH OTORITATIF PADA CHANNEL YOUTUBE UENO FAMILY JAPAN

The purpose of this study is to examine how audiences (especially in generation Z) perceive the YouTube content of Ueno Family Japan and its relation to the authoritative parenting displayed. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using Stuart Hall's reception approach theory. The data collection process in this study was carried out by interviewing ten informants. The results found that there were seven informants who occupied the dominant hegemonic reading position, one informant in the negotiated reading position, and two informants in the oppositional reading position. This study also shows that the frequency of viewing affects the audience's perception of the authoritative parenting displayed. Viewers who watch frequently (heavy viewers) consider the parenting style in the show as an exemplary parenting model that is educational and wise, while viewers who do not watch too often (light viewers) consider the show only as entertainment and do not pay attention to the parenting values in it. This result supports the basic principle of Stuart Hall's reception theory, which states that meaning is not something static or absolute, but depends on the diverse interpretations of the audience.
