Abstract

The development of information and communication technology brings enormous changes, especially in the entertainment sector. An example of the field of entertainment is online games. Online games themselves also make in-game voice features that can make players interact through their voice in them, but not all Online Games have good in-game voices, there are even Online Games that do not have voice in-game features, for example, Online Game Point. Blanks. The problem felt by Point Blank game players is the difficulty of finding the right and practical media when they want to interact. This research was conducted on the Royal E-sports team as one of the communities in the Point Blank Online Game. This research method uses qualitative research methods with interview techniques and research has shown descriptive results. The purpose of this study is to prove that Discord can be used as an alternative medium and means to communicate when playing online games and can strengthen solidarity within the Royal E-sports team. This can be proven by seeing the Royal E-sports team using the Discord application which has good sound quality and a more stable connection when used. In addition, the Discord application makes the Royal E-sport team often interact with each other about games or just chat, this makes team solidarity closer.
