Abstract

This study uses a quantitative appriach method. The population of this research is followers from the Instagram account @riliv which involves 400 respondents. The variables of this research are “Use of Social Media Instagram @riliv (Variable X) and Information Needs (Variable Y). This research uses the Uses and Gratifications theory. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of the use of social media @riliv on providing followers with information needs. The results of this research show that there is a fairly strong relationship between the @riliv Instagram account and followers' information needs. Hypothesis testing carried out in this research shows that the hypothesis is accepted, namely the influence of the news content of the @riliv Instagram account on providing mental health information needs for its followers. In this research, there is a positive influence between the Instagram account @riliv on conveying information needs to its followers. Apart from that, Instagram followers @riliv use this account as a source of information about mental health.
